[6/13]Joell Ortiz-Summertime In Brooklyn

Thought I'd use the same picture as the last one, lot of new Joell Ortiz been coming lately. Think I'll start my own record label, I already got my eyes on a couple of unsigneds, and I truly believe they'll make me millions.

[6/12]Day 2

So, I benefit from linkbucks. Once again, I am going to tell you those of you that come here to my blog, I only do this for promotion of the new rap talent, if I were to do it for money, I would be better off getting a job because the 31 cents I made off linkbucks yesterday would be what I make in a couple minutes in a job. I told you with this blog, this is your Rap music blog, where I also promote the new Rap talent. Now on to my thoughts for June 12.

Well, no doubt by the end of today, Carter III sold its one millionth copy, wonder how was that lucky boy or girl. Platinum in a day, I wasn't impressed with first day sales at 423,000, but half way through the second day and already 900-940,000 sold, damn what happen to all the people that told me "Carter III is wack". Real slow day in the blog world yesterday, luckily I was able to get you those Lil Wayne songs which made up for the slow day in the blog world. Did you check out the Delon and Big Grizz songs I put up? Don't tell me you just dropped by to get your Lil Wayne dosage and got the f*** out.

Lakers choked yesterday. Up by 24 to the Celtics, and lost. It was one of those fairy tale stories, Celtics down by 18 at halftime, and Paul Pierce went to his coach, and said, "Coach let me guard Kobe, I can do it". And fairy tale it was, Kobe 6-19 from the field, I think he shot 2 FTs the ENTIRE game. It wasn't the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history, it was the biggest choke ever. Celtics up 3-1 going into Game 5, least Lakers still at home, in which they were undefeated till last game, and The Celtics 3-8 record away from the friendly confines.

P.S. Going to see The Incredible Hulk, might be out rest of the day. Also,I got all your requests, working on the a milli mixes right now, almost done with the 1st one.

Hate it when they change the main characters.

[6/12]Big Grizz-Knock Knock

Oh well, I guess no one else wants to download the mixtape. Alright from now, I'm going to be putting up daily, 1 notable single off the tape till I'm done with it. Hopefully, you will see what you have been sleeping on and you will download the full tape. I already have had many of your fellow peers say he has a killer flow, and even one of your fellow peers compared him to Biggie. In my opinion, he has a bright future, so on to business, here's the 1st track off the Outta Hibernation tape, all I have to say is FIRE.

[6/12]Artist Spotlight-DeLon

Hitting the rap game from all sides, [DeLon] manages to be conscious and street on the same albuma seamless merger of hot production, a catchy hook and the lyrical precision of a young Talib Kweli. Yellow Rat Bastard (YRB) Magazine, Issue ..61, The Connection Review Born to parents from a small village in Gumpaha, Sri Lanka, DeLon learned at an early age the importance of hard work and humility while at the same time trying to attain a level of greatness never thought of by someone from his island. DeLon made his musical debut at the young age of 12; but it wasnt his lyrics people were listening to. DeLon began his love affair with Hip-Hop by first learning to dee-jay for local parties and clubs around his hometown of Pasadena, CA. A perfect match from the start; DeLon soon made a name for himself and word of his talent spread through to the hottest clubs in Hollywood.

Dee-jaying gave DeLon the chance to study music and gain a stronger perspective of how people responded to certain beats and melodies. From the age of 16 until he graduated from college, DeLon continued to deejay and hone his skills on the microphone, attending numerous competitions to test his skills. From there and after his graduation from college, he began producing professionally for other artists. Not agreeing with the lyrical content of the artists he produced for and disheartened by their misuse of the power of the microphone, he stopped producing for certain artists and began solely producing for those artists who shared the same message of unity that he personifies. Since then, DeLon has been working tirelessly in hopes of bringing a new paradigm to rap music.

DeLons musical purpose is to bring unity among people and to educate them through his lyrics. Rap music is such a powerful tool and, if used to educate, can help change the world. His style is unique and cannot be sonically compared with any rapper in the game. Unlike many rappers before him, through lifetime travels to over 33 countries, DeLon has collected knowledge, spiritually and worldly, and indulged himself into music from all over the world. Determined to bring light and positivity to worldly atrocities of famine, and racial and cultural injustices; DeLon aspires to be the leading voice in bringing unity and consciousness to the forefront through Hip-Hop music.

Other subjects that are heavily touched on include world poverty and the gratitude that we as Americans should show for the prosperity we have. Life in America, even in the poorest of neighborhoods, can not even compare to the way a beggar in South India lives. DeLon hopes to open up a new perspective within the rap genre. His Sri Lankan descent has already created a base sense of curiosity amongst his rapping peers, and this is only heightened by his uncommon lyrics and highly entertaining performance style. Utilizing his multi-cultural knowledge and identity, DeLon fuses eclectic cultural beats with Hip-Hop to create a unique style that cannot be sonically compared with any other rapper in the game.

Those tracks combined with the ability to perform in English, Spanish and Sinhalese; DeLon produces a crossover appeal that makes him marketable to a wider fan base through genres and markets worldwide. Authentic, unique, diverse and entertaining; DeLon strives to achieve a level of international greatness and influence through his music at the same time keeping his roots grounded to his village upbringing.

Delon-The Beat Goes On

Delon goes hard in this one, and that chick in the song too. The spanglish rapping at times, goes great with the song. This track is so you can get the feel for Delon music. Stay tuned, as more Delon music will be coming to a blog near you.

[6/12]Former boxer Mitchell Rose suing Jay-Z for $88 Million for copyright infringement

Former boxer and current personal injury lawyer Mitchell Rose is suing Jay-Z for $88 Million for copyright infringement.

Rose claims he gave Jay-Z his demo tape in 2001 after the William Joppy and Felix Trinidad. Rose says he was shocked after discovering Jay-Z had stolen his style and even some lyrics.

“I saw Jay-Z as we were leaving the arena after the fight, gave him my tape, and asked him to listen to it”, explained Rose. “He took the demo with him and shortly after that he began using the whispering (which he now frequents) in his songs. I had previously trained some of my artists to use that style, but it quickly became obsolete after Jay-Z got a hold of it. He used the whispering to enhance his music and financially benefit from it. Jay-Z disregarded the fact that it was my demo where he got the style from as he went on to use it for his own personal gains, which is wrong.”

Rose has served the lawsuit papers to two of Jay-Z's 40/40 Clubs.

[6/12]Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III to break all-time records?

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III after the first day it went on sale, pretty much broke Mariah Carey's record for the year at about 400,000. Since, this album is such a special occasion, they've been keeping track of the album sales day-to-day. As of yesterday, 4 P.M. eastern, Universal has recorded that Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III has sold anywhere from 900,000-940,000 copies. Obviously, this is the record of 2008, the most highly anticipated album of the year, nowhere even near the record holder of this year. To think all the people that I know in life that told me "Carter III is wack".

Me, I am a big Lil Wayne fan(as you can see from my banner), I will try to keep you up-to-date with the album sales. It is truly something interesting to follow, the questions now are did the leaks actually help? Was The Empire telling the truth when Cash Money Records had this leak project all planned out?

[6/12]Now Taking A Milli Mix Requests

I saw Emi doing this, so I thought it would be a good idea to offer the same to the people that visit my blog. Heres how it is, with all the a milli freestyles there is out there, some of you might want some of them put together in a mix instead of having all these seperate freestyles. So, if you want your own A Milli Remix, send me an e-mail at djmikeaveli@gmail.com with the following, and I will get right on it:

1.Which freestyles you want.

2.Do you want all the verses, or a certain verse in each freestyle.

3.The order you want the freestyles to appear in.

I guess that's all I'll need. Note: I am not taking cbox requests. Also, if you send me a request, give me time to do my work, do not be shouting in the cbox, "Where's my remix" or on my e-mail, because what I will simply do is delete your e-mail, and move on to the next. So officially I am now taking your A Milli mix requests.

[6/11]Day 1

To begin with, this will be a new section, I will be adding to my blog that I have not had in my previous blogs, in which, I will discuss my thoughts of the day. As you all know, an unfortunate incident occured at my old blog at djmikeaveli.blogspot.com(R.I.P.), so due to an unspecified reason, I made this new blog at mikeaveli-music.blogspot.com(Note:change your links right now, affiliate or visitor, please change it now). There will be changes though, in my old blog, I posted everything that leaked on the net during the day for your one-stop, however, I asked myself do I really enjoy doing this all I do is upload a bunch of content, I do not even get to listen to music anymore because of how unorganized I am. And then, the files I want you to download get put all the way in the bottom and were not even looked at because of how many posts I had. In my 1st blog, which I had runnin for almost a month, I was not even close to the number of posts, I had in 1 week with my old blog.

From now on, this will be your Rap music blog. I hope that with this blog I can bring back your love to Rap music. I have seen that lately r&b, and a milli freestyles is what you see on the blogs in a daily basis, since its what the people want, its what the major artists are doing. I also hope that in addition to promoting Rap music, I can also promote the up-and-coming rap talent. I will not be posting full retail albums, and everything that leaks anymore, instead I will be posting rap music that is iPod quality.

Believe me, you will like the new look on my blog, I will also try to do more djing, by bringing you original Mikeaveli mixes, and maybe even making some mixtapes myself. Now, I am a blogger, not your lovable bootlegger. Now on to my thoughts of the day.

To begin with, as most of you would know, I went out yesterday to buy my copy of Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III. I wanted to support Lil Wayne, but in addition, I wanted to grab the official thing. I was actually impressed at how crazy I was to grab my copy, after I had already listened to the whole album. So, I got my copy and after getting the time to actually go through the whole thing with no pauses or nothing, I concluded I went so crazy over an album that was really nothing special. But, apparently I wasn't the only one that went crazy, as 423,000 others bought the album yesterday.

To keep things short, if you like music, I'd recommend you get it. The production values of the album are truly amazing, the lyrical content, however, is not. But, if you like music, you will truly enjoy this. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't something that should have sold 423,000 copies on the 1st days it hit the stores. Wayne's album will set a record and it will go platinum, I believe that by the end of the week, 1 million copies will be sold.

So, who saw the Lakers-Celtics game. I saw part of it, nothing special if you were a celtics fan or just a basketball fan. But, if you were a big Kobe fan, such as me, it wasn't that bad an MVP performance from Mr. Bryant, and a Lakers win :) . Also, read my write-up on the Tim Donaghy situation, for more Basketball news. Did you hear, Young Jeezy has joined the many artists that have opened an online social networking site to promote their music, and will be releasing an official mixtape exclusively on the new site soon. A good move on Jeezy's part, that thisis50.com is a gold mine, and this means more new Young Jeezy :) .

Before I go, I been looking at the clicks on the links through Linkbucks. And, I noticed there have been very few links for the Grizz mixtape and the Larsiny Family Gossip Freestyle. Seriously, if your not going to check these two out then honestly you have no interest in Rap Music. And, you might as well get out of my blog, because if your hoping for me to post a full retail album for you, it's not happening anytime soon.

[6/11]Milly ft Mike Beck & Lunch Money-U Ain't Hard

When I saw this, the only reason I even decided to listen was because I thought it was more shots at 50. But, as soon as I hit the play button, I was hooked on this. Me personally, I've always liked that hard, rap music and nowadays all we hear is mainly r&b, and a milli freestyles. That Gay Unit tape was garbage, but with this joint right here, looks like Mike Beck and the crew startin to step their game up.

[6/11]Tim Donaghy Blows The Whistle on Dirty Secrets of the NBA

We begin with the Lakers making their comeback in the series yesterday by beating Boston 87-81, on an MVP performance by Mr. Bryant. However, today will continue being a saddening day in the history of the world, as ex-referee Tim Donaghy, who is facing up to 25 years in a federal prison for fixing NBA games, reveals to investigators dirty secrets about referees fixing playoff series's in the years 2002 and 2005. Donaghy was told if he cooperated with officials, he would have a shorter sentence, so the NBA was not surprised at Donaghy making this statement out of desperation. Donaghy stated the series in 2002, was a 7 game series, the only series that year that actually went 7 games was The Sacramento Kings Vs The Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers who ended up winning this series, were down 3-2, and it was almost certain The Kings would be victorious until a foul-filled 4th quarter in which the Lakers outscored the Kings 34-18 at the foul line led to a Lakers win, which would eventually result in the Lakers taking the series.

Donaghy then stated in 2005, officials were targeting 1 player. Jeff Van Gundy, manager of the Houston Rockets at the time, currently an ESPN analyst, said another referee had informed him that they were targeting Yao Ming. Donaghy also stated that the NBA had told referees to never call fouls that would result in a foul out to star players due to publicity. The NBA denies all the allegations, but the sports nation, and some of the players are not at all happy with this. I believe we will need some serious investigation into the case, and in a couple days, more information might surface on the matter.

I have listened to much of the tape and its hot. I listen to Grizz, and he kinda reminds me of one of these rappers, can't remember the name right now(i'll get back to this later). Shouts to Ian.
